Foundational works
Structural created structural foundations to support communal seating and planter areas, readying the site for the footfall that would come with the construction of the new office block and the creation of both a functional and attractive space. The team also implemented external and internal drainage to manage rainwater runoff and reduce flood risk.
Soft landscaping and paving
Stockton completed soft landscaping, brightening the area with greenery, and blending the modern architecture with the local environment. The team installed specialist feature paving and kerbing for better accessibility, as well as high-security bollards to protect pedestrianised zones and control vehicle access.
Health, safety and environmental compliance
The project’s Sheffield city centre location meant that deliveries, access, and egress to the site presented significant challenges, with traffic congestion and route restrictions influencing delivery timescales. Stockton took the highest safety precautions while carrying the works, carefully planning undergone to manage constraints around the site’s proximity to pedestrians.
